Double Check Your FX Calendars!

I use the FX calendars on forexfactory.com and dailyfx.com to see when high impact news is expected. On 2/21/19 both calendars showed Bank Of Canada Governor Poloz would be speaking at 12:35pm ET but it was actually 12:45pm.

I was clued in because I wanted to see what the topic was and went to the BOC website and saw the time was posted at 12:45pm. Then I watched the 1 minute CAD/USD chart at 12:35 and nothing happened between 12:35 and 12:45. But 12:45:00 - 12:45:10 there was a 19 pip move.

I sent both websites an email today Sunday 2/24/19 to let them know. Within 2 hours forexfactory.com had corrected the time on their 2/21/19 calendar. So that's certainty the time was wrong.

The purpose of this posting is to share a lesson I learned. Double Check Your FX Calendars!

Since then I started checking the central bank's websites to confirm the times are correct. They're easily found with a search engine, but here's the central banks' links to my favorite FX pairs:
